Methods Interviews will be conducted to collect qualitative data from participants who vote and who do not vote. A survey compiled from the interview questions will be conducted through SurveyMonkey. Data collection will last for about three days to understand the user persona.
Voter App Over the past few decades the political landscape has become increasingly polarized which has led to record voter turnout in recent major elections. The advancement of technology, specifically social media, has changed the way voters receive and consume campaign information. Creating Voter is to significantly improve access to clear, understandable and unbiased information.

Overview Provide easy-to-understand, unbiased information regarding measures and candidates to voters.
Goal How can we better understand what motivates people 18 and older to vote/not vote and what are the pain points that prevent people from successfully voting?
-
Provide information on local polling stations, voting rules/regulations, and information on how to successfully vote in the state where the user is located.
-
Provide advanced notifications of proposed policy changes, regulations, updates to the federal register based on the user's set preferences.
-

The Process
My team of 3 ran user interviews conducted to collect qualitative data from participants. A survey compiled from the interview questions will be conducted through SurveyMonkey. Data collection will last for about three days to understand the user persona.

Empathy and Define
Learning how people vote and the barriers some individuals face when voting. We learned that Voter ID Requirements Which Election officials use false claims of rampant voter fraud to justify strict requirements like a photo ID, often aimed at suppressing the votes of people of color and younger voters. Laws requiring a physical street address discriminate against groups that are more likely to have P.O. Box addresses, such as Native Americans living on reservations.
Also, Polling place Closures/consolidations USA Today analysis found that election officials have closed thousands of polling places during election times, Which largely affects communities of color.
Lastly Reduced voting Hours States and localities have long used early voting to reduce Election Day crunch and open up the process to prospective voters bound by work or other commitments. this also largely affects communities of color.
